Sunrise 2.0 and For The Hopeful

Finally got my internet sorted out and a new blog up dedicated to all things Gigitsu. Let me start by giving you a run down of the two new tracks.

Sunrise was just a simple melody that came to me one day while I was looking across the horizon at the mountains that surround the town I live in. I thought that Sunrise would be the perfect name because it's someone uplifting and it reminded me of the Sun rising up into the morning sky somehow. After tweaking the melody played with a violin (virtual of course), I decided to harmonize with some other instruments, namely larger strings and a piano. I've updated it again with more realistic sounding strings, a few chords from a trumpet, and a french horn that imitates the bass. The trumpet just fitted in so much better with a distant sound, almost as if it was being played somewhere in the mountains, the trumpeter watching the sunrise.

For The Hopeful was originally called Aktivist, but I thought the title didn't exactly fit with it. Again, it has a sort of uplifting feel while still remaining a little dark and sad. Sort of like those hard times when you can still see that silver lining and you're hoping for the best. This one started off with me just playing with some strings and seeing how it went, purely experimental. I was sort of addicted to what I had come up with, played around a little more and harmonized them. The Arpegiator was just to give it a little more of the electronic feel and a background, but the I just felt the need to throw in some hip-hop-esque "beats" to carry it through without it becoming too depressing and boring.

Again, I reworked it with more realistic sounding strings, and I'll keep working on it, as well as Sunrise, until I'm completely happy with them.
